3 Different Delicious Momos Recipes Can Be Prepared At Home

Momos are mainly Tibetan Food, and now it is a famous dish all across. Momos are dumplings made with dough and stuffings inside them.

Among the best street food out today, momos are famous among all age groups. Momos are mainly Tibetan Food, and now it is a famous dish all across. Momos are dumplings made with dough and stuffings inside them. The stuffing can be according to your choice. It may be of chicken, vegetable, paneer, or soybean. Momos are usually steamed but you can find them steam fried too. These hot steamed momos are served with red chutney and hot chicken soup.

Now here is the recipe by which you can prepare this delicacy at your home without any hassle and enjoy it with your loved ones.

STEAMED CHICKEN MOMO

INGREDIENTS for making the Dough :

  • 150 gms refined flour,
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder,
  • 1/2 tsp salt

INGREDIENTS for the Fillings :

  • 1 cup of chicken keema,
  • 1/2 cup of onions chopped,
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder,
  • 1 tbsp oil,
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste,
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste,
  • 1 tsp soya sauce,
  • Salt to taste,
  • 1 tsp vinegar,

INGREDIENTS for Chilli Sauce:

  • 25-gram garlic,
  • 6 gms whole red chillies,
  • 3 tbsp vinegar,
  • 1 tbsp oil,
  • salt to taste,
  • sugar as per taste,

INGREDIENTS for the Soup

  • Half cup of chicken keema,
  • 4 tsp of cornflour,
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder,
  • Salt to taste,
  • 1 Onion chopped,
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger sliced,
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic sliced,
  • 1/2 tsp of oil,
  • 1 green chilli,
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce,

PROCESS TO MAKE THE MOMOS

First We Will Prepare The Chilli Sauce:

At first, we will soak the red chillies in water for about two hours. Then Cut them into small pieces and again soak them in the vinegar for about one to two hours. Next, we will put all the ingredients mentioned to make the sauce in a blender and blend them into a smooth paste. The sauce is ready to keep in a bowl and set aside.

Now We Will Prepare The Soup :

At first, put some water in a pot and put the half cup of chicken keema into it and set it to boil. Now put 1/2 tbsp of oil into a pan and put the flame in middle. And add some chopped onion,1/2 tsp of chopped garlic,1/2 tsp of chopped ginger,1 chopped green chilli and 1 tsp of soya sauce. Saute them for 1 minute. Now add the boiled chicken to it and also add the chicken stock. Let it boil for more than 3 minutes. Now we will mix 3 spoons full of cornflour into 1 tbsp of water. And add to the pan. We have to keep in mind that while adding the cornflour mix to the pan we have to stir it properly so that the cornflour does not form lumps. Let all of them boil for more than 3 minutes. Then add 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder and salt as per taste to it. The soup is ready.

Now We Will Prepare The Momos:

At first, take a bowl and mix all the ingredients needed for the filling of the chicken and keep them aside. Now heat the oil in a pan and put the mix in a pan saute them for 5 mins. And the chicken filling is ready. Next, we have to knead the refined flour, baking powder and salt altogether into a firm dough. And then Cover the kneaded dough with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes we have to roll the dough into very thin rounds. And then take each of the round pieces and put some filling in the centre. Next, we have to bring the edges together and twist the edges nicely so that it gets sealed. Now the momos are ready to put to steam. Now take a steamer brush some oil in the bottom so that the momos do not get stuck to the bottom and then put all the momos one by one in the steamer and then again brush some oil in the momos to prevent them to get stuck on each other. Close the lid of the steamer and keep them to steam for about 10 minutes and then serve it hot with chilly sauce and soup.

  • Salt to taste,
  • 1 tsp vinegar,

  • Salt to taste,
  • 1 tsp vinegar,

INGREDIENTS for Chilli Sauce:

  • 1/2 tsp Ginger sliced,
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic sliced,
  • 1/2 tsp of oil,
  • 1 green chilli,
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce,

Then add 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder and salt as per taste to it. The soup is ready.
